Summary[edit]

Description wood in the sky, Silver Peak, White Mountains, elevation 3260 m (10690 ft). Though located on the crest of the mountains famous for ancient bristlecone pines (Pinus longaeva), this is probably the remnant of a limber pine (Pinus flexilis) eroded and shaped by centuries of wind-driven snow in this dry 3200m climate.
