Description |
Nederlands: Hij is ten voeten uit geschilderd en draagt een broek en wambuis van groene zijde met gouden bloemen. Op de borst hangt een gouden ketting met de medaille die De Jongh als blijk van verdiensten van de VOC ontvangen had. In zijn rechterhand houdt De Jongh zijn commandostaf. Daarmee wijst hij op de in de doorkijk afgebeelde vloot. Op de tafel met het Perzische kleed bevinden zich voorwerpen (een register, inktpot en schrijfveer en nauwelijks zichtbaar een bol met de hemellichamen) die verwijzen naar zijn activiteiten als koopman zeeman. Rechts staan een moor met een parasol en een negerkind met zwaard en overkleed. |
