nder shafts of early English workman-ship. These portals have plain straight canopies, under each ofwhich is a single quatrefoil panel. The division immediately abovethe portals is completely filled by five pointed windows of equalheight and breadth, divided by a single mullion into two lightseach, and a quatrefoil light at the top. These windows are alsoadorned with slender detached shafts, and the flower-like ornamentfilling up the hollow mouldings, so peculiar to this age and style.The next division contains five windows of the same description,with the outer ones lower than the next, and these again lowerthan the one in the middle, but they are all of equal breadth.Above these is the gable itself, in which are three pointed arches,the middle one pierced to light the roof. The gable has no para-pet, but a feathered coping runs along it, and forms an eleganttermination to the whole.
