Summary[edit]

Description A wood and metal windmill of the type common in California in the 19th century used in agriculture to pump water. This windmill illustrates how the surrounding fruit orchards were watered. The fruit ranch was John Muir's principal occupation in the years 1885 until his death in 1914. Now a National Historic Site, National Park Service.
