Summary[edit]

Description
English: The text highlights Brown’s time in Buffalo NY where he lived 1836-1846 after escaping slavery. Working as a steamboat man, he helped many gain their freedom by hiding them on the boat and taking them to Buffalo, Detroit, or to Ontario, Canada. He wrote that in 1842 he had helped 69 reach Canada.
