| Description | Photo of the William Crooks on the rails in 1924 surrounded by people dressed in clothing circa 1860s. While those pictured may be dressed in Civil War era clothing, the surroundings (overhead railroad bridge) are 20th century. The locomotive, along with File:Pullman sleeping car circa 1860s.JPG this Pullman sleeping car which was original to the train, went on an exhibition tour in 1924 from Chicago to Seattle. The locomotive and its then modern counterpart, which was responsible for pulling the en:Oriental Limited, traveled the route from Chicago to Seattle to promote the new trainset of the Oriental Limited in 1924. The people were all Great Northern employees and were dressed as the William Crooks' passengers and crew were in 1863. clipping via en:Newspapers.com |
