DESCRIPTION Stereograph of Washington Street in Keene New Hampshire, taken from the top of the Bridgman's Block. This road was laid out in 1738. It traveled from the north end of the house lots and turned east to run on high land between the Town Brook and Beaver Brook and joined what is now Washington Street about where Cross Street is located. It was one of the first streets to be cement paved.
