English: War memorial in the Quarry Park The memorial, erected in the early 1920s, was originally designed to commemorate the fallen of WW1 but later an inscription was added to include the WW2 dead.
The sculptor, Allan Gairdner Wyon (1882-1962) came from a family of noted engravers but changed careers to become vicar of Newlyn. |
