Description

Bij het Nieuwe Dok of Dok 2 werd in 1859 een nieuw stoommachinegebouw met een grotere pomp gebouwd.

Vrijstaand bakstenen gebouw met twee beuken, met zadeldaken afgedekt met verzinkt-ijzeren golfplaten. Kopgevels versierd met klimmend fries (gemetselde sierrand) en natuurstenen details. De oostgevel heeft twee boogvormige vensters (1908) en gebogen muurijzers (1908). Bij verschillende verbouwingen is aanvankelijk zoveel mogelijk rekening gehouden met de oorspronkelijke architectuur. De opening voor de kanteldeur (Crawforddeur) met loopdeur is in 1984 in de gevel gehakt. Oorspronkelijk is handvormbaksteen gebruikt, later machinaal gevormde baksteen.
