WIPO Director General Daren Tang (left) met on April 27, 2023 with Mr. Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the <a href="https://www.wipo.int/members/en/details.jsp?country_code=CN" rel="noreferrer nofollow">China</a> Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCIPT). Mr. Tang and Mr. Ren Hongbin took stock of the decades long relationship between the two organizations in a year that is marking the 50th anniversary of WIPO's cooperation with China. Mr. Tang's official visit to China coincided with World IP Day which this year is themed "Women and IP: Accelerating Innovation and Creativity." During the visit to CCIPT, Mr. Tang met with a group of women innovators to talk about their work and discuss the importance of greater participation of women in innovation. Mr. Tang was in Beijing on an official visit to China from April 25-28, 2023.
