Description |
English: Bird's eye view of the 1867 Paris World Fair. The circular building in the center of the image is the palais du Champ-de-Mars, which contained a large part of the Fair. The Palais was built by Frédéric Le Play and Jean-Baptiste Krantz, and housed the countries' exhibits (France occupied about 40 percent of its total surface). The map shows all of the other pavilions and foreign sections of the Fair, most of which were located around the palais. |
