Summary[edit]
DescriptionView from the roof of Corby's Crags Rock Shelter - geograph.org.uk - 1137594.jpg |
English: View from the roof of Corby's Crags Rock Shelter The roof of the shelter provides a wide platform and extensive views. In the foreground good light reveals a hint of an ancient carving in the stone around a natural basin and groove that might date back to the Bronze Age. Below the trees you can see the Rothbury to Alnwick road where it bends at Swin Hope. Below the road, picked out by sunlight, is the disused railway viaduct at Edlingham with the castle to its left and the village laid out along an old road-way behind. The darker hills at the back (right) are those of Thrunton Wood with the distinctive scarp slope of Coe Crags (middle).
