Gloria Darnstaedt tucks her hair into her flight helmet as she prepares for takeoff in a T-28 Trojan two-place trainer aircraft. Naval Reservist Darnstaedt, now assigned to aircraft ferry squardon 31 (VRF-31), is working to earn a place as a female Navy line officer qualified to pilot non-combatant aircraft. Her home is in Xenia, Ohio. 1958 - 1981".
