English: NAVAL STATION NEWPORT, R.I. (Dec. 7, 2009) Sailors assigned to USS Constitution practice pipe patching aboard the floating wet trainer, Buttercup. The trainer, which submerges into a 38,000-gallon pool, simulates a sinking ship to provide a realistic environment for teaching Sailors damage control techniques. Constitution, the oldest commissioned warship afloat in the world and America's Ship of State, is manned by 74 active duty Sailors and receives nearly half-a-million visitors annually.
