Description
English: GROTON, Conn (Sept. 16, 2008) Adm. Paolo La Rosa, chief of staff of the Italian Navy, greets members of the Retired Italian Sailors Association during a visit to Submarine Base New London. The retired Italian sailors and La Rosa toured the Italian submarine ITS Salvatore Todaro (S 526) while the Italian submarine was in Groton. This was La Rosa first visit to the Submarine Capital of the World and a historic one for Todaro as well, marking the first time since World War II that an Italian submarine has crossed the Atlantic.
