Description
English: BOSTON (Aug. 24, 2007) - Bill Erickson, retired captain and executive director of the Surface Navy Association, presents Command Master Chief Mark Davidson, of Naval Recruiting District St. Louis, with the Old Tar Award. Since 1998, the award has been given to the Sailor with the earliest earned enlisted surface warfare specialist (ESWS) designator in the Navy. Davidson, the fourth recipient of the award, earned his ESWS aboard USS Preble (DDG 46) on Oct. 16, 1981. U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist 1st Class Eric Brown (RELEASED)
