English: Atlantic Ocean (Sept. 2, 2005) - Hull Technician Fireman Steven Irwin, left, and Hull Technician Fireman Chance Brooks weld stanchions to a potable fresh water manifold in the Machine Shop aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75). The potable fresh water manifold will be used to distribute drinking water for hurricane relief efforts in the Gulf Coast. Truman will serve as the command center and afloat staging base in the waters off the Gulf Coast. The Navy's involvement in the humanitarian assistance operations is led by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in conjunction with the Department of Defense.
