Description
English: The retired U.S. Navy hospital ship USS Sanctuary (AH-17, later T-AH-17) in mothball storage at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard, Pennsylvanina (USA), in 1978. Visible in the background are several cruisers, USS Des Moines (CA-134) tied up outboard of USS Salem (CA-139), aft of Sanctuary. In the background are USS Newport News (CA-148), outboard, USS Springfield (CG-7) and USS Northampton (CC-1).
