Deutsch: Gnadenbild der schwangeren Heiligen Maria, Sankt Matthias Basilika, Trier. „Maria – Sitz der Weisheit“ heißt das Marienbild offiziell. Im Volksmund wird das Ölbild einfach nur „Mattheiser Gnadenbild“ genannt. Es wurde vermutlich um 1700 von einem Maler aus dem Trierer Raum geschaffen und wird seit dieser Zeit von vielen Menschen als Ort der Meditation und des Gebetes besucht."
English: The so-called "Mattheiser Gnadenbild" by an unknown artist, around 1700, showing the pregnant Virgin Mary, St. Matthias basilica, Trier, Germany. The well-known painting is responsible for many of Marian pilgrimages to St. Matthias basilica every year. |
