Summary[edit]

Description
English: U.S. Army Spc. Jason D. Hunt's favorite dog plays a prominent role in a sculpture created by artist Troy Kelley to honor him, July 22, 2014. Hunt was with the 2nd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, when he was killed during the Nov. 5, 2009 shooting on Fort Hood. Kelley's sculptures for each of the victims killed in the shooting will be featured in the November 5, 2009 Fort Hood Shooting Memorial, to be located at the Killeen Civic Center. Kelley asked the family members of each victim killed in the tragedy to tell him which objects were most dear to their lost loved ones, then created sculptures representing each victim using those objects as symbols of their personalities and life. The 13 sculptures will be incorporated into the finished memorial, which will include a garden, a pavilion, and an American flag. Family members and organizers hope to see the project completed by the end of the year. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt. Ken Scar, 7th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment)
