Description
English: 070521-N-6544L-002 LOME, Togo (May 21, 2007) - Commander, U.S. Sixth Fleet Vice Adm. John Stufflebeem and Commander, U.S. Coast Guard Atlantic Area Vice Adm. D. Brian Peterman review a formation of Togolese sailors at the Port of Lome. Stufflebeem and Peterman are leading a joint Navy and Coast Guard team that will travel throughout West Africa and the Gulf of Guinea to discuss maritime security and safety with local maritime officials and U.S. embassy country teams. Navy and Coast Guard engagement in Africa is part of a larger U.S. government interagency effort to enhance regional maritime security.
