Description
English: A 85 x 70 cm oil-on-panel portrait painting of Thomas Cotton, 2nd Baronet, by Cornelis Janssens van Ceulen. British Museum. He married, firstly, Margaret Howard, a daughter of Lord William Howard, of Naworth Castle, Cumberland, by whom he had one son, John. The heraldic cartouche at left shows Cotton (of 4 quarters); that at right shows Cotton (of 4 quarters) impaling Howard (of 4 quarters).
