Summary[edit]

Description
English: For ceebu jen/thiéboudiène, a rice pilaf and fish dish (Wolof ceebu means rice, jen means fish), whole ingredients are boiled in the sauce as rice is partially steamed apart. Cooked ingredients are removed from the sauce and set aside, then the partially steamed rice is combined with the sauce liquid. When the rice has absorbed all the liquid, the whole ingredients are placed on top to display for serving. Ceebu jen/thiéboudiène are pronounced the same. Ceebu jen is written according to the Senegal official alphabet, while thiéboudiène (thiébou diène) is written according to the French alphabet.
