Summary[edit]

Description
English: Title: The noble sons of Ireland

Abstract: Print shows men prominent in Irish history, each identified below the print, all standing before the viewer, wearing the particular dress of their times. Includes eight lines of verse:
On Fontenoy, on Fontenoy, hark to that fierce huzzah!
Revenge remember Limerick! dash down the Sassanach
But, onward! the green banner rearing
So, flesh every sword to the hill
On our side is virtue and Erin
On theirs is the Saxon and guilt
On Fontenoy, onFontenoy, like Eagles in the sun
With bloody plumes - the Irish stand - the Battle is fought and won!
