his fraternity is noted for the loyalty of its alumni, who as a ruleare interested in the organization long after they have quitted collegehalls. Alumni chapters have been, established in many of the largercities. Four different song books have been issued; a new catalogue isnow being edited. The supreme authority is vested in the conventionswhich are held every summer at the fraternitys club house at Wooglinon lake Chautauqua. The official organ is The Beta Theta Pi, whichappears monthly and has a good standing among the Greek letterSociety publications. The Denison chapter, the Alpha Eta, was founded December 28,18(58, by Henry A. Wise 70, Charles J. Seamon 71, Henry A. Delano69, Frederick Clatworthy 69, and John J. Powell 70. Owing to anti-fraternity laws the chapter died in 187-, but was revived a few yearslater and continued sub rosa until 1882, when the law prohibitingfraternities at Denison was repealed. The Denison chapter has a suiteof four neatly furnished rooms on Broadway.
