Description
English: The oak pulpit rises on a single stem and is divided into five panels. Each panel is carved into folds of linen and stylized pomegranates.

Between each of the panels is the figure of a notable preacher: from left to right, St. Peter, St. Paul, a hooded monk with a rule book and

cross said to represent the preaching order of the Holy Cross, the Florentine monk Savonarola, and St. Francis of Assisi. Around the base is writtenthe words, “Woe unto me if I preach not the Gospel” and “Thy word is a lantern unto my feet and a light unto my path.”
