Summary[edit]
| Description |
English: The Bank Quay, Larne I havent been able to discover exactly when ships started calling at what was known as The Bank on the western shore of Larne Lough but it seems to have been before the 1830s. The quays were gradually improved and continued to handle (mainly coal) cargoes until the mid-1990s. The Ballygarvey is discharging a cargo of coal direct to the coalyard on the quay. The cranes dated from WWII and were dismantled on closure. |
