Description Terrafugia CEO Carl Dietrich talks to the press in front of the company's production prototype for their Terrafugia Transition drivable airplane. Cliff Allen, VP of Sales right, background. Possibly the most talked about "car" will be Terrafugia Transition drivable airplane as it will be landing at the 2012 New York International Auto Show. This "flying car" is said to be capable of getting 35 mpg when on the road and up to 400 to 450 miles when in the air. The Terrafugia seats two people and also comes with four wheels, two wings, air bags, and a parachute if you purchase one, but they are not cheap as they have been priced at $279,000.
