English: Taking the time to reflect, Amy Phillips, who works at the Central Florida USO office, reads the caption of one of the photographs in the exhibit,” A History of the American Soldier: A photographic tribute,” March 18, at the Saint Petersburg Museum of History. The opening ceremony was well attended by the community, local dignitaries, and significant turn out from the local military communities; Mac Dill Air Force Base, Central Command and the Army Reserve Medical Command Headquarters and the Florida National Guard. Tampa International Airport now has a USO Welcome Center. This photographic tribute is traveling the United States in a multi-year tour; currently the exhibit can be viewed at the Thrasher-Horne Center for the Arts, Orange Park, Fla., until Feb. 14, 2015. |
