Description
Deutsch: Tafel am Haupteingang der Stadtbibliothek in Hannover. Inschrift: 1929-1931 von Karl Eckart und Hans Bettex asl erster Büchereiturm Deutschlands erbaut. Erweiterungen 1955 und 1974. 1943-1945 Sitz der Gestapo-Leitstelle Hannover. Von hier aus am 19.2.1945 letzte Deportation Hannoverscher Juden.
English: Plaque at the main entrance of the city library in Hannover. Inscription (literal translation): 1929-1931 built by Karl Eckart and Hans Bettex as the first book tower in Germany. Extensions 1955 and 1974. 1943-1945 Seat of the Gestapo-Leitstelle Hannover. From here on 19.2.1945 last deportation of Hannoverscher Jews.
