| Description | Sundial Bridge at dusk in Redding, CA taken by James Brooks of www.EpiphanyDigital.com in June of 2007. The Sundial Bridge is a suspension foot bridge in Redding, CA over the Sacramento River. The panels beneath your feet as you walk across are a kind of glass, polycarbonate, or epoxy resin material that is translucent and lit up with fluorescent light at night. The Summer Solstice marks the beginning of the bridge's ability each year to be an accurate clock structure. Friday and Saturday evenings live Jazz or Swing music is played at the Turtle Bay cafe near the entrance to the bridge. No horses are allowed on the bridge. |
