Summary[edit]
DescriptionSugar Loaders - Port of Bridgetown, Barbados - Lesser Antilles (Caribbees) - 20 March 2013.jpg |
These three towers are used to load sugar for export on ships at Bridgetown harbor, Barbados. They were the first thing I noticed on our arrival in Barbados. I took this photo from our cruise ship. Sugar was the mainstay of the Barbados economy for two or three hundred years. There are still two sugar factories on Barbados (formerly ten). Two tugboats are in the foreground. |
