Animal characteristics: Head-Body Length: 2.4 m; Weight: 100 kg; Identification: The possible colors of the striped dolphin include dark gray, brown, or blue. The flanks are a light gray color, the flippers are black, and the belly is white. This dolphin also has black bands extending from the eyes to the anal area and from the eyes to the flippers; Habitat: Deep offshore waters; Diet: Carnivore: fish, squid, shrimp; Reproduction: The exact timing of the breeding season depends on a population's location. Females breed once every three years. Gestation lasts for 12 months.
