English: "South Coast Plaza Christmas tree" in Town Center Park, with its reflection on the Westin South Coast Plaza building, in the "Town Center" area of South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, California, U.S.A. South Coast Plaza Town Center, where Segerstrom Center for the Arts and South Coast Repertory are located, is across Bristol Street from the shopping area of SCP. SCP's "store directory" includes Segerstrom Center, Repertory and the Westin as part of SCP. From the shopping area, you can cross the Unity Bridge to get here. This is not the side of the hotel that faces the street, but the side where the check-in lobby is. This White fir (Abies concolor) was 96 feet (29 m) tall and decorated with 20,000 lights. It weighed 20,000 pounds (9,100 kg) (before the decorations?) and was transported almost 600 miles (970 km) from Mount Shasta. It was the first Christmas tree to be installed (in October, even before Halloween) at an Orange County mall for 2013. The tree lighting ceremony was held on November 21, 2013.[1][2] The tree here was in fact not the only Christmas tree at SCP. Here's a picture of the Christmas tree in Jewel Court inside the mall structure.
