Adolf Hengeler (f. 1863) fårin något af äkta tyskhet i sina små satta figurer, och EuGENKirchner har en personlig humor och teknik. Här meddelasen af hans judekarikatyrer (bild 261). Judefrågan är synnerligenaktuell både i Tyskland och i Österrike, således bland FliegendeBlätters egentliga läsekrets. När man betänker, med hvilket hätsktförakt — tack vare ras- och religionsfördomar — judarna bemötasi dessa trakter, förstår man, att en mängd hat- och hänbilder härmåste uppstå. Man ser här på de omskurna ungefär medsamma aktningsfulla känslor, hvarmed de pa sin tid i Palestinabetraktade de oomskurna. Men så stor är Fliegende Blättersgodmodighet, att till och med dess judekarikatyrer äro ganskaharmlösa, aldrig pinsamma men ofta roliga. Man behöfver ejvara näeon antisemitisk österrikisk riksdagsman eller någ-on ger- 323 TYSKLAND.
