S/N : 30850; RN 420050 12e Régiment de Chasseurs d'Afrique de la 2e Division Blindée. Lors d'une inspection le Général Leclerc demanda à retirer la Corse sous le logo de la 2e DB. Le Corse participe à de durs engagements contre la 9e panzer dans la région de Ballon puis, après la prise d'Alençon, contre les 9e et 116e Panzer en forêt d'Ecouves. Le 12 septembre 1944, au cours de la nuit, le CORSE est victime d'un début d'incendie rapidement éteint avec les extincteurs extérieurs : un moteur devra être changé au cours de la nuit même avec, comme bruit de fond, le cliquetis de chenilles des Panther se positionnant pour le lendemain sur les pentes autour de Dompaire. Le CORSE est également touché par deux obus fumigènes qui transforment le char en ver luisant. L'adjudant chef Titeux est touché dans le dos par le phosphore mais ne sera pas évacué. L'équipage aura le plus grand mal à supprimer cette fluorescence, l'eau étant inopérante ainsi d'ailleurs que le vin d' un jerrycan soigneusement gardé depuis Paris. La 2e DB poursuivant sa progression vers la Moselle, ce sera la brillante manœuvre de Baccarat : le CORSE n'y arrivera pas sans avatar car, devant Hablainville, il sera déchenillé des deux cotés par mine mais sans autre dégât. Le passage des Vosges par Rethal et le Dabo, Saverne, Strasbourg, Sélestat puis Royan et enfin l'Allemagne verront le CORSE et son équipage suivre le périple du GTL jusqu'à la victoire.
