Summary[edit]
DescriptionSeattle - First National Bank - 1900.jpg |
English: "First National Bank Building, First and Yesler," from the brochure Seattle and the Orient (1900).
This building at the northwest corner of First and Yesler in Seattle later had alterations and additions in 1916 and is now (2007) known as the Mutual Life Building. The bank merged in 1929 with the Dexter Horton National Bank and Seattle National Bank to form the bank later known as Seafirst, which was eventually absorbed into the Bank of America. In the photo, the building behind at left has a large vertical sign saying "Klondike Outfits"; a smaller sign over its front entrance says the same. On the upper part of the building at right "[]POSIT" can be seen. There are also a considerable number of other signs in view, but none seem legible to me; if anyone can decipher them, feel free to transcribe them here. |
