Description |
English: Medieval copper alloy seal matrix. This is a personal seal dating from the 14th century. The matrix is flat with a perforated lug and slight low rib on the reverse. The object is intact and in good condition and exhibits coarse file marks on the reverse. The die is circular with a central motif of a tree with three branches and a rampant lion looking right at the base. There are two birds in the branches of the tree. The inscription in Lombadic script reads:
