A topographic map of the Caineville, Utah badlands generated using QGIS and GRASS GIS using the SRTM heightmap dataset obtained from the USGS.

Summary[edit]

Description
English: This topographic map was generated using QGIS. GRASS GIS was used to approximate the streams on the landscape. The rectangular map latitudinally from 38.00N to 38.30N and longitudinally from 110.25W to 110.55W. The elevation data comes from a subset of the USGS SRTM 1-meter dataset (DOI: https://doi.org/10.5066/F71835S6). Using GRASS GIS, the "Accumulations" field when calculating the streams was set at 100.0.
