| Description |
English: Saxon Shore Way on Bessie's Lane This named footpath from Decoy Hill Road, near Decoy Farm, meets a footpath junction. The Saxon Shore Way (long distance footpath) coming up from The Street, Fenn Street (on Bessie's Lane) turns at this junction and heads right to Decoy Hill Road, near Clinchstreet Farm. Also another path leads left to Hall Road, St Mary Hoo via Newlands Farm. Bessie's Lane is named after Queen Elizabeth I. This ancient green lane is believed to be the route she used on her journey from London (via Egypt's Bay) to Chatham Dockyard. |
