Description
English: Saint Catherine of Alexandria (in Egypt) distinguished herself at the beginning of the 4th century as a philosopher, virgin and martyr. She is represented here with the cogwheel of her torture and the palm of virginity.

Jean-François Godescard, born in Rocquemont (Seine-Maritime) on March 30, 1728 and died in Paris on August 21, 1800, was a Catholic priest from the diocese of Rouen, author and translator of numerous works.

Mme Fournierː Wife of the engraver Nicolas Amable Fournier (1789-1854). Exhibited at the Parisian salons (1837-1847) and contributed to Abbé Godescard's book as an illustrator.
Français : Sainte Catherine d'Alexandrie (En Egypte) s'est distinguée au début du IV ème siècle en tant que philosophe, vierge et martyre. Elle est représentée ici avec la roue dentée de son supplice et la palme de la virginité.

Jean-François Godescard, né à Rocquemont (Seine-Maritime) le 30 mars 1728 et mort à Paris le 21 août 1800 est un prêtre catholique du diocèse de Rouen, auteur et traducteur de nombreux ouvrages.

Mme Fournierː Épouse du graveur Nicolas Amable Fournier (1789-1854). A exposé aux salons parisiens (1837-1847) et a contribué au livre de l'Abbé Godescard comme illustratrice.
