Description A former U.S. Navy Ryan FR-1 Fireball being hoisted on the dock landing ship USS Anchorage (LSD-36).
Only one Ryan FR survives today (2012), BuNo 39657 was first deployed to the NASA Ames laboratories, NAS Moffett Field, California (USA), where the aircraft served as an instructional airframe at a technical school before being acquired by the Planes of Fame Air Museum at Chino, California in the 1960s.
