(British Library, Royal 20 E VI f. 9v). Detail from Chroniques de France ou de Saint Denis (from 1422 to 1460), made by by Hugues de Lembourg (scribe) in 1487, in northern France, possibly Calais. Provenance: Commissioned in 1487 by Thomas Thwaytes (d.1503), Chancellor of the Exchequer, Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster under Edward IV, and treasurer of Calais until 1490, made by Hugues de Lembourg, his servant, as a gift for King Henry VII: colophon (vol. 3, Royal 20 E III, f. 94v):
