Français : Résurrection d'un jeune enfant devant la statue miraculeuse de Notre-Dame de Pontoise. Au pied de la statue de la Vierge (datée du 13e siècle) de l'église Notre-Dame de Pontoise, est représentée la scène du miracle d'un tout jeune enfant qui revient à la vie. La mère agenouillée assiste au miracle, les bras écartés dans un geste d'imploration et de surprise. Deux jeunes filles, probablement les soeurs aînées de l'enfant, ont les mains jointes en prière. A droite, dans une partie ombragée, un homme se présente comme un pèlerin, couvert d'un vêtement marron, un bâton à la main et les pieds nus.

Notes Il existe au moins deux, et peut-être trois, versions de ce tableau. La plus grande, 131 x 98 cm hors cadre, est accrochée dans l'église Notre-Dame de Pontoise Notice Palissy. Une autre version, exposée par l'artiste au Salon de 1841 (numéro 47 du livret) sous le titre Résurrection d'un jeune enfant devant la statue miraculeuse de Notre-Dame de Pontoise / (Chronique de Pontoise, année 1748) (base Salons) était de dimensions plus réduites : d'après le Registre des ouvrages du salon de 1842 (numéro 2106) (Database of Salon Artists), l'oeuvre mesurait 100 x 82 cm, mais on ignore si ces dimensions étaient avec ou sans cadre. La version du Salon pourrait correspondre à la version vendue chez De Baecque en 2023 agrandie d'un cadre, à moins qu'il s'agisse d'une troisième version.
