Description
Deutsch: Ofenplatte mit dem Motiv des Kaspars und des Melchiors, also zwei der Heiligen Drei Könige, die besonders im Kölner Raum stark verehrt wurden (im Kölner Dom liegen deren Reliquien) . Dadurch sind auch viele Platten mit diesen entstanden, wobei die Heiligen Drei Könige oder einzelne davon auch mit anderen Heiligen kombiniert wurden. Die Drei Könige als Personen stehen auch für die drei Lebensalter und die damals 3 bekannten Erdteile Europa, Asien, Afrika. Auf unserer Platte hält Kaspar eine Dose (mit Gold innen drin) und Melchior ein Weihrauchgefäß. Eifel 1. Hälfte 16. Jahrhundert
