Description
English: If that name sounds familiar, then so it should. This gentleman is Robert Griffith French, son of our photographer Robert French, whose photos we've been exploring and enjoying on Flickr for a couple of years now.

According to Kieran Hickey in The Light of Other Days (p. 106), Robert Griffith French was a Sergeant Major in the 2nd Battalion Royal Dublin Fusiliers. I thought you might like to see a member of the French family, but this photo also has tons of gorgeous detail of the more domestic side of life on manoeuvres at the Curragh in Co. Kildare. If we could find out more about this Robert French and his military career, or indeed anything else about him, that would be pretty marvellous!
