Description
Boating near Olentangy Park. Olentangy Park in 1893 the park opened under the name “The Villa”, though it was bought by Columbus Railroad Company and renamed “Olentangy Park” in 1896. In 1899 The Dusenbury brothers purchased the park and added a theater, a dance pavilion, bowling, roller coasters, water slides, a swimming pool, a pony track, a train ride, and two carousels. In 1910 this was the largest amusement park in the United States.The park was sold in 1938 and the space was used to make Olentangy Village apartment complex.
