• A copyright search for renewals was done at copyright.gov for both Minneapolis Tribune and Minneapolis Star Tribune (the Tribune and Star newspapers merged in the 1980s). There was only one set of renewals for Minneapolis Star Tribune in 1991; this was a series of Isaac Asimov articles in 1963. There's no evidence that copyright continues to be claimed on this material.

This work is in the public domain because it was published in the United States between 1929 and 1963, and although there may or may not have been a copyright notice, the copyright was not renewed.
