-like crown, having a second segment at apex andseveral spinose and plumose setae. Posterior antennae(fig. 3) two branched, the outer branch being two jointed.The lower joint has two short plumose spines; the apicaljoint is edged on cuter side with short spines, and hasseveral long spinose setae at the apex. The inner branchis short (joints not made out), and is terminated by twolong plumose setae. Mandibles (fig. 5) broad and stronglytoothed; palp of one short stout joint and bearing severallong and short spines. First footjaw (fig. 6) much resem-bles that of Jonesiella fusifo?7?iis, Brady and Robertson.Second footjaw (fig. 7) two jointed, bearing a finely curvednarrow clawed hand, the latter being jointed near thecentre. The first joint has two or three short plumedspines at the apex; the second joint is finely ciliated on itsinner margin. First pair of swimming feet (fig. 8) havethree joints to each branch, the inner branch being rather Proc. Lpool Biol. Sec. Vol. III. PL IX. Fig.l

The inner side of the base of each of the firstpair bears a short stout spine curved at the end. Thesecond, third and fourth swimming feet (fig. 9) have bothbranches three jointed and are spinose like the first. Thefifth pair of swimming feet (fig. 10) have two large roundedfoliacious joints and a smaller one at outer side, each edgedall round with fine cilia, the large joints bearing severallong and short spear shaped spines, plumose near the apex.Caudal segments very short and broad and appear like adivided abdominal segment terminated on each side by twospear shaped spinose setae, plumose near the apex, theinner ones considerably longer than the outer, andnarrowed at the base.
