Français : L'impôt est représenté sous la forme d'un char conduit par un diable, sur lequel se trouve le duc de Chaulnes (gouverneur de Bretagne). A droite, les allégories de la Justice et la Paix détournent le regard. A gauche, la ville de Rennes est envahie par les flammes de l'Enfer.
English: The tax is represented as a chariot driven by a devil, which is the duke of Chaulnes (governor of Britain). On the right, the allegories of Justice and Peace look away. On the left, the city of Rennes is engulfed in flames of Hell.
